What I didn’t like so much:
– The unpacking program is constantly being deleted by my virus scanner because it considers the program to be a threat. (I wrote to support and I look forward to the answer)
What was a great surprise: I totally overlooked the fact that there was a security plugin in addition to the backup. I would not have expected this. Thanks to BackupGuard and AppSumo for the mega deal. The two plugins will replace premium plugins for me, for which I have to pay regularly. Note: and the backup plugin is better than some other premium plugins out there.
Easy backup an effortless security
After downloading BackupGuard, the installation was effortless, and connecting to my Dropbox was easy. The information and interface are clear, and you can schedule the backup and receive backup confirmation by email. After a few tests, the restoration was completed without errors. My few CHAT questions were answered within minutes. I hope they can implement a suggestion I made to them to limit cloud backups and remove old backups on cloud. This plugin reminds me of Akeeba backup that I used to use on my Joomla sites. The same ease and since the plugin is likely to improve I highly recommend it for $79 with unlimited sites, it’s a godsend and added security.

BackupGuard is a bit different than my previous solution. That solution stored the backups in the app itself. BackupGuard stores the backup in your choice of cloud storage service. Understanding that, it works well. The BackupGuard website serves as a “licensing” platform for all the sites you use the plugin on.
I hope at some point to see backup status in the BackupGuard web app (as opposed to looking in the plugin). I would this to be like a monitoring “dashboard”. My only concern would be that to monitor the status, you’ll have to keep an eye on email notifications to make sure your backup is working each time. I’m sure they have thought of these things though, and I’ll keep watching the roadmap.
Overall, it’s a nice solution so far!
What is wrong with people?
Fantastic product – and a very generous offering. Easy 5 tacos (with salsa) and full-stack.
What I did find shocking was the behaviour of a few sumolings rating 1 star on the review section, because they had a customer support query! This is not a support forum – they have their own website and their own procedures for helping their customers – and their support is 2nd to none. The audacity it takes to tarnish a great product’s reputation, and affect their potential sales because they are too self-centred to know how / or can be bothered, to contact a support rep who would happily help, and raise a ticket is just beyond me.
Easy site migration
I was just looking at UpdraftPlus, so this is very timely. I bought two codes and set it up in my production environment (a fairly simple site) and in a local dev environment running on my Mac using Local by Flywheel. I did a migrate, saving the backup to Google Drive, then imported the backup into my local site and restored it, and now I have a perfect copy of the original site.
Someone else mentioned there’s a fee for migration. I have seen an option for paid migration assistance, but BackupGuard Coupon Code went very smoothly with no assistance or extra payment needed. As I said, it’s a simple site, so maybe more complex sites could require manual intervention. All I know is this was super easy and went much better than with other plugins I’ve tested.
